Definition
Equilateral Triangle is a three sided two dimensional (2D) geometric figure. All the sides are equal in length and all the three inner angles are 60 degrees each.
Height: is the perpendicular drawn from the one vertex of the triangle to the opposite side of the triangle. This line always bisects the opposite side. Also, in case of an equilateral triangle, this is always equal whatever vertex you choose.
Area: of a triangle is calculated by the formula base * height / 2. In the case of an equilateral triangle, the base is the side (which are all equal)
Formula
Area: Area of a Equilateral Triangle is claculated by the formula: √ 3 * (Side² / 4)
Perimeter: This is calculated by the formula: 3 * Side
Height: Height of the Equilateral Triangle is √ 3 * (Side / 2)
Units: Used in Triangle’s
Meter (m): is the base unit of length in the International System of Units (SI). Metre is defined as the distance travelled by light in a specific fraction (1299 792 458) of a second.
Other SI units: are millimeter (mm) ie 1/1000 of m, centimeter (cm) which is 1/100 of m and kilometer (km) which is equal to 1000m.
Other English units of measure of distance are:
Mile: An English unit of length, it is equal to 1609 meters (m).
Yard: It is equal to 0.9144 meters (m).
Foot: It is equal to 0.3048 meters (m).
